Velcro
Are you ready to have a life companion who will be by your side every step of the way, every day your little shadow? A kitty who loves to cuddle and snuggle at night, who even talks to you and has a lot to say? Then look no further-- Velcro is just the kitty for you. She is a 9-year-old, black-and-white tuxedo medium-hair kitty. She has a very soft, quiet voice, but she loves to talk and hold a conversation with you. Her absolute favorite pastime is hanging with her people and getting loved on, even getting belly rubs and giving headbutts! Velcro lost her forever mom last month (February 2026) and is looking for a new forever companion. She was clearly grieving that loss, but is now ready to see what the next adventure holds. Her ideal home would be one without other pets. She wants to be top kitty and this sometimes causes problems with other animals. But if you have a lap without a kitty, Velcro would love to meet you.
Here’s a video of Velcro!
Loki
Are you looking for the perfect companion for your cat or cats? Loki is interviewing for the position of perfect companion.
Loki was born around July 14, 2025, and if you're looking for a cat with a gentle heart, a quirky personality, and gorgeous green eyes, this handsome boy might be the one for you.
Loki isn't the type of cat who falls in love with strangers the moment they walk through the door. He likes a little time to figure people out, and usually within about 24 hours he's ready to start making friends. Once he decides you're one of his people, you'll discover just how sweet he really is.
His favorite companions, though, are other cats. Loki absolutely loves having feline friends, the more the merrier, and truly needs a home with at least one other cat. They give him confidence, keep him entertained, and are an important part of who he is.
Loki also has some hilarious little quirks. He's quite the chatterbox and loves to "talk" while carrying his toys all over the house. He'll happily announce his latest catch as he proudly parades it from room to room. We think he may have some Siamese in him. And when it's time to relax, don't be surprised if you find him watching TV. Sports are always interesting, but his favorite guilty pleasure seems to be The Real Housewives—especially when the ladies start arguing or any reality TV show!
Whether he's playing, chatting, or curled up near his favorite feline friends, Loki is a wonderful companion with a quiet, loving personality. He's looking for a patient family who will give him a little time to settle in and understand that the best friendships are sometimes worth waiting for.
If you have a home with other cats and are looking for a sweet, slightly goofy boy who will make you smile every day, Loki is so ready to find his forever family. 🖤🐾
Thin Mint 2
Thin Mint was born around March 6, 2025, and this tabby girl has never met a toy she didn't like. She's full of energy, full of opinions, and full of personality. Life is never boring when Thin Mint is around!
When she first meets new people, Thin Mint likes to take her time and check everything out. Give her about a day or so and she'll decide you're worthy of her attention. Before long, she'll be asking for pets, following you around, and chatting away. She loves to "talk" and will even mimic her foster mom during their conversations, which is just too cute.
Thin Mint is a quirky girl with lots of favorite hobbies. She could spend hours bird watching from a sunny window, rolling around with catnip, scratching on her favorite scratching post, "helping" crochet or playing with just about any toy she can get her paws on.
She's also a big fan of other cats—but she definitely has preferences. Thin Mint does best with male cats of any age and enjoys having a feline buddy to play with. She likes to be the queen bee, so she'd be happiest as the only female cat in the home.
At the end of the day, beneath all that energy is a sweet, affectionate girl who just wants someone to love her for the fun, unique cat she is. If you're looking for a playful companion who will keep you entertained, carry on conversations with you, and fill your home with personality, Thin Mint might just be your perfect match.
Sox
Sox – A Shy Little Survivor Looking for Her Safe Place
When Sox was only about four weeks old, the world was a very big and scary place. She was found hiding underneath an air conditioning unit, a tiny tuxedo kitten doing her best to stay safe. Thankfully, she was rescued and brought into the SARG program, where she has been able to grow up surrounded by care and kindness.
Now about 11 months old, Sox is still a very shy girl. Life has taught her to be cautious, and she takes a little time to trust. But behind those timid eyes is a gentle soul just waiting for the right person to show her that she’s finally home.
While people can still make her a little nervous, Sox finds comfort in the company of other cats. She gets along wonderfully with her foster companions—even though they are much bigger than she is—and watching them helps her feel more confident. And when the toys come out, her kitten side shines through. A rolling ball or dangling wand toy will quickly bring out her playful spirit.
Sox doesn’t need a perfect home—she just needs a patient one. Someone willing to give her time, quiet reassurance, and the space to blossom at her own pace. The shy cats often form the deepest bonds, and the day Sox decides you are her person will be incredibly special.
After such a fragile start to life, Sox deserves a home where she will never have to hide again—just a warm spot, a few toys, and someone who believes she’s worth the wait. 🖤🤍🐾
Munchkin
Hi, I’m Munchkin. I used to be called Velvet, but I got this name because I’m just a little guy. Even though I’m a year-old brown tabby, I am only about 11 pounds. However, I do have a big personality, and I love to leap high into the air to catch a string toy. Boy, that’s my favorite activity. My foster mom has taken lots of videos of me chasing those toys. Most of the time my foster mom can find me sitting by one and begging with my eyes for her to "make it move”! The treat game is another of my favorite activities. See, we have a puzzle that my foster family uses and she puts treats in them. Then I have to figure out how to get them out. I do love treats. OOOH and that push-pop-licky thing - I think she calls it a Churu… wow those are awesome! Like, I’ll do anything for one of those. I am a bit nervous around strangers, and dogs really scare me. I’d love a forever family that is older and quiet. I don’t remember what happened to me or how I ended up in the shelter (I was really young), but, it must have been a little traumatic- all I remember is my foster mom picking me out of all the others. She said she saw something special in me. I’ve been with her for about 9 months, and I’d really love to find a forever family. I think I could be a wonderful emotional support animal. I will make a strong bond to one person and they will be my forever person. I will head butt them and rub on their legs while they are cooking dinner. I love to cuddle up while you watch TV and I’m a good nighttime cuddle buddy. Maybe you are looking for me, just as I am looking for you?
Here’s a video of Munchkin in action! And another video…. And another video …. and another video (5/20/2025)

Felix - ADOPTED!
Who knows the title song to the old cartoon series, "Felix the Cat"? The opening lyrics go "Felix the Cat, the wonderful, wonderful cat!" and they certainly apply to the all-black, probably part-Siamese, adorable but mischievous, one-year-old Shelter Animals Rescue Group - SARG foster kitty. Who needs to watch cat videos on your cell phone, when you have a cat who keeps you constantly entertained? Ok, yes he knocked his foster mama's cell phone into the toilet and she had to get a new phone, but other than that, he's cuteness personified. And yes, foster's household dog, who is three times Felix's size, is a little intimidated by this young dynamo--but who cares, when this yellow-eyed beauty stares into your eyes and meows very loudly and insistently for you to fill his food bowl? As you can see, anyone who adopts Felix will be smitten and delighted by this very curious, social, lively, and yes, wonderful, wonderful cat.
Big Orange - ADOPTED!
Big Orange has been a stray, eluding capture for two years. In the meantime, he fathered several litters of kittens, several of whom have become SARG rescues and found homes. The assumption was that Big Orange was a feral cat who would, if ever caught and neutered, never be able to live in a home. But surprisingly, he recently began to approach closer to the rescuer who has saved so many of the kittens, and he eventually came and flopped over for a belly rub. He is now in a forever home with one of his sons who looks exactly like him (Blaze, with his back to us in the photo above). In addition to becoming a lovable pussycat, Big Orange is drop-dead gorgeous!
Chunk - ADOPTED!
Meet Chunk. He is a gentle giant, weighing in at 18 pounds, and he comes by his name honestly. But, even given his size, he is not an alpha kitty and gets scared easily by loud noises. Chunk is estimated to be about 7 years old. He loves to sit with his people all the time; he would love nothing better than to be a lap kitty for the rest of his days. Purring is one of his favorite activities -- as soon as you start petting him, his purr motor starts running. He gets along with other kitties, as long as they are not aggressive, but dogs are not his thing. Chunk still enjoys playing with little balls and toys. At some point in his life, the tip of one of Chunk’s canine teeth broke off. The vet has assured us that it is not causing any issues, and given his size he has no problem eating. To enjoy his life to the fullest, Chunk needs a quiet home. Maybe you have the perfect place.
Aurora- ADOPTED!
Hi there, future human! I'm Aurora, a pint-sized ball of sass, snuggles, and serious cuteness born July 14th, 2025. My fur looks like an artist had a wild day with a paintbrush—one-of-a-kind tortie masterpiece, thank you very much.
I may be tiny, but don’t be fooled—I’ve got a big personality. I’ll chase toys like it’s my full-time job, pounce with Olympic-level skill, and then curl up in your lap like the sweet angel I am (with just a sprinkle of mischief, of course). I may even sit upon your shoulder like a parrot, purring sweet nothing's into your ear.
Bonus feature: I come with my very own heart-melting stare and the tiniest pink tongue that sneaks out sometimes—irresistible, right?
So, are you ready for a lifetime supply of purrs, playtime, and unconditional love? Because I’m ready for my forever home… and I think it just might be with you.
Earl Grey - ADOPTED!
Introducing Earl Grey — the tiny gentleman with big Maine coon ambitions!
At just 9 weeks old (As of Dec 6), Earl Grey is already practicing for his future role as “Regal Feline Ruler of the Household.” With his luxurious gray-and-black, medium-length fur and his Maine coon-mix fluff factor, he looks like he should come with his own royal cloak. Don’t let the fancy name fool you—this kitten is 50% mischief, 50% cuddle bug, and 100% adorable. Earl Grey plays hard, zooms harder, and then collapses dramatically into the nearest lap as if he’s just completed an Olympic event. His purrs? Loud enough to qualify as a small household appliance.
He gets along great with the other cats in his foster home, mostly because they tolerate his kitten shenanigans with the patience of saints. Earl Grey believes every cat is a friend, every toy is an enemy, and every human lap is his rightful throne.
If you’re ready for a furry sidekick who brings joy, chaos, and cuddles in equal measure, Earl Grey is your guy.
Hiccup - ADOPTED!
I’m an adventure kitty searching for an adventure-loving, forever family. My name is Hiccup, and I’m a gregarious 1-year-old orange tabby. Are you looking for a companion that will take car rides and follow you everywhere? Look no farther than me! My foster family has a boat, and I do love to go on that too. I will be your loyal partner. Jen, my foster mom, says I’m more dog-like than cat-like - I come when called, I love treats, I will go for a walk with you, and I do love to play. But, I’m just a cuddly too. If you’re ready for a nap, count me in, and I will cuddle all night by your side! Don’t leave me out when making the bed or changing the sheets. That’s so much fun! However, I do know how to play with humans - I don’t use my claws. I have very soft paw pads, and I don’t mind my toenails being cut at all. If you think you might be a fit for me, I’d love to meet you. I think you will fall in love with me on first sight. Let’s go on an adventure together.
RC - ADOPTED!
This handsome, playful fluffball is new to the SARG program and just getting settled into his foster home, so much of his personality is still coming out. He's fairly vocal and just wants lots of attention and cuddles. At around 5 1/2 months old, he's already 7.2 pounds and most likely still growing into his large paws. The dog and other two kitties in the household don't seem to faze him. He's been neutered and only requires one more booster shot to complete his shot record. If you have a soft spot for poofy, cuddly black cats, consider RC.
He's part of a litter with Moonpie as his momma and a beautiful tortie sister who will be joining him in foster care in a couple of days after she is spayed. More info will be coming about this trio as they settle in and get comfortable.
Draco - ADOPTED!
🐾 Hi, I’m Draco! 🐾
Don’t worry—I may have a strong name, but I’m really just a softhearted, snuggly kitty. I love people, I love other cats, and honestly—I just love being loved.
I’m a chatty little guy, so I’ll keep you company with my cute meows and purrs, especially when I’m getting cuddles (my favorite thing in the whole world!).
If you’re looking for a sensitive, affectionate companion who will always want to be by your side, I think I’m the kitty for you. 💛
Comet - ADOPTED!
Do you have a soft spot for orange kitties? Then Comet is for you! He was born around June 22nd, and at 3 months he's already almost 4 pounds. He has a very typical male orange cat personality -- chill, laid back, likes to play and loves to cuddle. One touch and his purr kicks into high gear. He shares the foster home with his sister Nebula, foster sister Mandolin, an adult female cat and a medium sized female dog -- poor guy, he's so out-umbered! He loves life, making play and eating food his hobbies. When he's not tearing through the house playing with the other kittens, he can be found curled up with his sister or hanging out in someone's lap.
Walker - ADOPTION PENDING!
Cat Ballou here reporting for The SARG Times. I’m interviewing Walker, a very special SARG kitty
Cat: Walker, tell us about yourself.
Walker: I’m an orange tabby, bobtail boy, and I’ve probably got a Manx cat for an ancestor somewhere. I’m the perfect weight for my big bones, topping the scale at 16 pounds. When I went in for my vaccines, the vet tech wanted to know if I was a cat or a mountain lion. I’m shy, but once we are friends, I want all the pets!
Cat: What is your career aspiration?
Walker: I’ve always wanted to be a Texas Ranger. Can’t you just see me with a white cowboy hat on my head?
Cat: What is your favorite quote?
Walker: A true friend is a friend for life.
Cat: Do you have any hobbies?
Walker: I love taking naps, and then watching the birbs and skwerls from the screen porch at my foster home. They are so sassy, because they know I can’t get out!
Cat: Would you consider yourself a lap cat?
Walker: I’m a polite, gentleman cat who doesn’t require a lap. I love to be beside you, and if you stretch out on a recliner or a sofa, I love to lay across your legs.
Cat: Any final words?
Walker: Are you looking for a handsome, 2-year-old fella? That’s me. Give me a chance, and I’m sure you’ll be my favorite person, and I’ll be your favorite cat.
Root Beer - ADOPTION PENDING!
Hi, there! My name is Root Beer, and I am waiting for my forever home. I was born in March, 2024, and I am in excellent health. I am neutered and have had all my shots. My brother, Oliver, and I came to SARG after our first owner made it clear she did not want us and might shoot us! I am an observant and curious cat. I like to have some time to warm up to new people, but after that we can be best friends! I like to play with chase toys and I enjoy cat treats! I have impeccable litter-box habits. I currently live with my brother, another unrelated male cat, and a large rabbit. I occasionally meet with the family dogs. I am a quiet cat, and I would surely love to have a family of my own!
Here’s a video of Root Beer and his brother Oliver.
Oliver - ADOPTION PENDING!
Hello! I am Oliver. I was born in March, 2024. I am neutered and have had all my shots. All I need now is a special person or family who wants me as much as I want them! I am in a foster home at the moment, and I don’t get all the attention I would really like. I would love to be in your lap or helping you with your projects as much as possible! I love cat treats and interesting games! My foster mother considers me a very well-balanced and sociable cat. My litter-box manners are perfect too, she says. Right now I live with my brother, another unrelated male cat, a large rabbit, and I occasionally interact with the family’s dogs. I get along with everybody. Go ahead and give SARG a call! I’m waiting for you!
Here’s a video of Oliver and his brother Root Beer.
Goldie - ADOPTION PENDING!
Lap cat alert! Goldie is this four-year-old, beautiful cat's name, since she is a rare example of a female orange kitty, and most orange cats are male. Goldie is super affectionate with humans, but because she is scared of the foster family's dog and even a little intimidated by their cat, she would probably do best as an only cat in a quiet home. Goldie is totally litter-box trained, and if you are looking for a lap cat, she is the cat for you! Just check out those striking green eyes and gorgeous orange coat, the perfect complementary color combination on the color wheel. For more information on this fetching feline, contact SARG, and help find this sweet cat her furever home.
Arya - ADOPTED!
Arya is still very young. The vets estimated that she's probably around 8 or 9 months. She was abandoned by her previous owners in a secluded wooded area either while she was pregnant or after she had her 6 babies. A kind construction worker ran across her and her 2-week-old babies while he was at his work site. He refused to leave them out there to die in the 90+ temperatures, so he put them in a crate and had them in a Waffle House, trying to find a home for them. A friend of their foster mom took them and brought them to her. Arya has been so sweet and has never swatted at us or even hissed when we picked up her babies. She's been an excellent mommy and was always so attentive when one of her babies cried. She loves to play and cuddle. She really enjoys feather toys! She has had a rough start in life and so deserves to have a loving family.
