The Beatles Kittens

Meet the Beatles kittens! Hey Jude was abandoned by his mother and bottle-fed by a SARG volunteer. Ringo, Eleanor Rigby, and Sgt Pepper are all from the same litter and were rescued from the shelter. The kittens are all about 12 weeks old as of December 8. All four are in a foster home and are playful and loving.

Hey Jude

Hey Jude is a medium hair black Ninja cat. His favorite game is “Got ya'”. When those green eyes look up at you, it melts your heart. He loves to sit in your lap until one of the other kittens comes past. Then he’s down and after them.

Eleanor Rigby

Eleanor Rigby is the perfect little lady until one of the other kittens jumps on her. Then she’s in the middle of the fray. She’s a gray-and-white tabby with the cutest little white blob on the end of her tail. It looks like she dipped it in white paint. The white tip must be related to her being a gymnast. She can climb up the handles of a set of drawers in the kitchen. She hasn’t figured out yet how to go all the way to the counter top but that’s probably just a matter of time. Beneath the calm demeanor beats the heart of an adventurer.

Sgt Pepper

Sgt Pepper is a “What ya' doing? Can I help?” cat. This white-with-gray-tabby-patches cat came into his foster home, took one look around, and decided he was in charge. He climbs up into his foster mom's lap and then talks up a storm. She thinks he’s informing her about what all of the other cats are doing and making suggestions about how he thinks she should deal with it.

Velvet

From Velvet's foster mom: "Meet Velvet! He is a 5-month-old (as of the end of November) little American short-hair brown tabby. I’ve named him Velvet because he is the softest kitty I have ever fostered. He feels like you are stroking velvet. Also, every time I pick him up he boops my nose with his nose giving me little velvet kisses as he purrs away. He is very athletic, jumping and twisting in the air to grab the string toy. Velvet is the best cuddler and lap cat. He sleeps right up next to me every night. And when my alarm goes off, he comes up to my chest and rubs his head on mine nuzzling into my neck. Such a wonderful little boy. I believe Velvet will be on the smaller side for a kitty; he is a petite little thing with a huge heart. He is ready to play and cuddle with his forever family."

Hiccup

Hiccup's foster mom says "Hiccup is an orange tabby, about 5 months old as of late October, with a love of playing and cuddling. He is a people cat, always wanting love and affection and quick to show you how happy he is with his loud purr while you are holding him. He makes me laugh every day with his antics. Always doing something funny - leaping in the air to grab the string toy, climbing in the washer when I’m loading the laundry, or rubbing against me when I’m doing yoga. Wherever I am and whatever I’m doing, Hiccup is right next to me. When I’m in my home office, Hiccup has his own bed on the desk. He is the perfect companion and a great Yoga Kitty! Hiccup loves treats! All kinds of treats. He likes the hard ones and the push-up churro type. He will jump through hoops for treats. At the end of the day, he is ready to curl up in your lap while you watch TV. Maybe you have the perfect lap for my little Hiccup."

Root Beer

Hi, there! My name is Root Beer, and I am waiting for my forever home. I was born in March, 2024, and I am in excellent health. I am neutered and have had all my shots. My brother, Oliver, and I came to SARG after our first owner made it clear she did not want us and might shoot us! I am an observant and curious cat. I like to have some time to warm up to new people, but after that we can be best friends! I like to play with chase toys and I enjoy cat treats! I have impeccable litter-box habits. I currently live with my brother, another unrelated male cat, and a large rabbit. I occasionally meet with the family dogs. I am a quiet cat, and I would surely love to have a family of my own!

Here’s a video of Root Beer and his brother Oliver.

Oliver

Hello! I am Oliver. I was born in March, 2024. I am neutered and have had all my shots. All I need now is a special person or family who wants me as much as I want them! I am in a foster home at the moment, and I don’t get all the attention I would really like. I would love to be in your lap or helping you with your projects as much as possible! I love cat treats and interesting games! My foster mother considers me a very well-balanced and sociable cat. My litter-box manners are perfect too, she says. Right now I live with my brother, another unrelated male cat, a large rabbit, and I occasionally interact with the family’s dogs. I get along with everybody. Go ahead and give SARG a call! I’m waiting for you!

Brie Clarson

We estimate Brie to be somewhat less than two years old. She's a beautiful kitty and very playful, sweet, and loving. She likes to follow her foster family around the house. She likes Victoria and will cuddle with her from time to time.

Morticai Stilton - ADOPTION PENDING!

Morticai does especially well with Victoria, the foster family’s dog. He loves to run and play then crash in your lap when he's he's done. He's the only male of his litter. He was born around the first week or two of February, 2024, so is 11 months old as of January, 2025.

Walker

Cat Ballou here reporting for The SARG Times. I’m interviewing Walker, a very special SARG kitty

Cat: Walker, tell us about yourself.

Walker: I’m an orange tabby, bobtail boy, and I’ve probably got a Manx cat for an ancestor somewhere. I’m the perfect weight for my big bones, topping the scale at 16 pounds. When I went in for my vaccines, the vet tech wanted to know if I was a cat or a mountain lion. I’m shy, but once we are friends, I want all the pets!

Cat: What is your career aspiration?

Walker: I’ve always wanted to be a Texas Ranger. Can’t you just see me with a white cowboy hat on my head?

Cat: What is your favorite quote?

Walker: A true friend is a friend for life.

Cat: Do you have any hobbies?

Walker: I love taking naps, and then watching the birbs and skwerls from the screen porch at my foster home. They are so sassy, because they know I can’t get out!

Cat: Would you consider yourself a lap cat?

Walker: I’m a polite, gentleman cat who doesn’t require a lap. I love to be beside you, and if you stretch out on a recliner or a sofa, I love to lay across your legs.

Cat: Any final words?

Walker: Are you looking for a handsome, 2-year-old fella? That’s me. Give me a chance, and I’m sure you’ll be my favorite person, and I’ll be your favorite cat.

Adoption News!

Goldie - ADOPTION PENDING!

Lap cat alert! Goldie is this four-year-old, beautiful cat's name, since she is a rare example of a female orange kitty, and most orange cats are male. Goldie is super affectionate with humans, but because she is scared of the foster family's dog and even a little intimidated by their cat, she would probably do best as an only cat in a quiet home. Goldie is totally litter-box trained, and if you are looking for a lap cat, she is the cat for you! Just check out those striking green eyes and gorgeous orange coat, the perfect complementary color combination on the color wheel. For more information on this fetching feline, contact SARG, and help find this sweet cat her furever home.

Havarti Patel - ADOPTED!

Havarti Patel is the adventurous one who is always first to explore. Her coloring is gorgeous—she's a dilute tortoiseshell. She loves to cuddle and get attention. She was born around the first week or two of February, 2024, so is 11 months old as of January, 2025.

Gouda — ADOPTED!

Gouda's favorite thing is to do zoomies and chase her Momma around the house (or be chased). She is all about playing and is always on the go. She was born around the first week or two of February, 2024, so is 11 months old as of January, 2025.

Ringo - ADOPTION PENDING!

Ringo, a gray-and-white tabby, is a purr machine. Pick him up and hold him against you, and you are rewarded with loud purrs. But don’t let that fool you – he’s always ready to wrestle with the other kittens. No sitting still for him. The foster mom’s daughter was visiting from the west coast for Thanksgiving and fell instantly in love with him the minute she saw him. He would have flown home with her had it not been for the 3½-year-old daughter. She realized she couldn’t deal with “the kid” and “the kitten” on the plane.

Arya - ADOPTION PENDING!

Arya is still very young. The vets estimated that she's probably around 8 or 9 months. She was abandoned by her previous owners in a secluded wooded area either while she was pregnant or after she had her 6 babies. A kind construction worker ran across her and her 2-week-old babies while he was at his work site. He refused to leave them out there to die in the 90+ temperatures, so he put them in a crate and had them in a Waffle House, trying to find a home for them. A friend of their foster mom took them and brought them to her. Arya has been so sweet and has never swatted at us or even hissed when we picked up her babies. She's been an excellent mommy and was always so attentive when one of her babies cried. She loves to play and cuddle. She really enjoys feather toys! She has had a rough start in life and so deserves to have a loving family.

Toothless - ADOPTED!

Toothless is one of the sweetest, most easy-going kittens his foster mom has ever fostered. He is approximately 5 months old (Nov. 1st 2024) and way bigger than his age would imply, weighing in at about 7 pounds. Toothless is a Maine coon mix, with his big eyes and beautiful long fur. He is going to be one big kitty. He has a fluffy tail that he loves to wag back and forth in big swaths, rubbing on people and other kitties.

Toothless was given this name because of his resemblance to the Dragon in “How to Train Your Dragon,” as well as because he had some dental problems that have been taken care of by the wonderful team at UT Veterinary Hospital. Toothless actually had a couple extra teeth and one tooth that stuck out at a weird angle, giving a snaggle-tooth appearance. Those teeth have been removed, and he has recovered well.

Toothless is a snuggler and loves to be held. Each night after dinner, he wants to sit down and cuddle on the couch while his foster mom watches TV. When you pick him up, he is like a noodle, going limp in your hands, and he starts purring right away. When it’s time for bed, he is a great sleeper, sometimes sleeping at the end of the bed, and sometimes curling up on your chest--all the while purring. Maybe you have the perfect lap for Toothless to curl up in?

Amber - ADOPTION PENDING!

Amber is an orange-and-white tabby kitten who is a ball of energy. He’s not intimidated at all by the seventeen-pound male, ginger cat, Walker, another SARG foster. Poor Walker doesn’t know what to think about this little guy, who is forever sneaking up on him and pouncing. Amber is constantly playing or play-fighting with the other two kittens in his foster home. He loves to be loved on, but not for long -- after all, he has all sorts of important things to do. He’s about 10 weeks old, as of October 22.

Jade - ADOPTION PENDING!

An adorable gray-and-white tabby kitten, Jade is playful and energetic. She is constantly on the move, playing with toys, exploring, or fighting with the other two kittens in her foster home. Then, worn out by her activities, she plops down and takes a nap. She loves to be loved on, but not for long -- she has to get down because she has important things to do. She’s about 10 weeks old, as of October 22.

Onyx - ADOPTION PENDING!

A SARG volunteer found Onyx, who had been abandoned by her mother. A SARG foster bottle-fed her until she could eat solid food. Her first furry friend was Ralphie, a Cavalier KIng Charles Spaniel. She’s a fearless kitten who rules the 17-pound, ginger male kitty in her foster home. As of October 22, she’s about 9 weeks old. She spends her day running, jumping, playing, or sleeping. She loves to be loved on, but not for long -- she has to get down because she has important things to do. She can sit on her hind legs like a meerkat.
