Tommy and Jesse
Tommy (the tabby with the white face, chest, paws) showed up at my house one morning, meowing and wanting food. He was friendly and hungry--I had never seen him in the neighborhood before. After a few days, Jesse also showed up. He too was hungry, definitely not feral, but much shyer than Kitty #1. After a few days, he would come when I opened the door for food time, and rub against my legs. Neither of these kitties was skinny, so I suspect the family in our neighborhood who had just moved away might have been feeding them. They both appear to be under 2 years old.
I think they are brothers because they have been close since they have been here. Sleeping together, playing together, and not trying to get each other's food. It is hoped they can be fostered or adopted together since they seem quite bonded. My neighbor has a cat who is here fairly often, and these 2 kitties seemed to get to along with her; this cat is much larger than either of these 2, but has not ever bothered them, nor have they bothered or attacked her.
They have both been neutered, had their shots and tested negative for FIV. They are now indoor kitties and are doing well. Currently they are in my basement and need a foster home as soon as possible or adopted if possible, again together if possible. They have received Revolution for flea control, though I have not seen any on either kitty. Their beds, litter boxes, an electric pet-watering fountain, and food dishes will be provided.
Tommy is still very happy to be petted (and fed), though Jesse is still not quite sure about being held. Being around people most of the time should help them overcome any reluctance to be petted and to be the perfect house kitties. They do allow me to kiss the tops of their heads--a good thing for a kitty guardian!
They will need some patience and some time. Jesse has been microchipped and Tommy will be before anyone adopts them. A donation to SARG for their help in getting these kitties protected is the only financial requirement needed.

Meisha and Remi
‼️BONDED PAIR OF SISTERS‼️
Oak Ridge, TN
Meisha and Remi are 1½-year-old bonded sisters who spent their first year surviving on the streets together after being abandoned as tiny kittens. When the world was cold and scary, they curled up together. When one was afraid, the other stayed close. They survived because they never left each other’s side.
Now they are safe in foster care… but they are still waiting for someone to choose them.
The challenge has been that they are a little shy, and shy cats are often the most overlooked.
“Shy” does not mean unfriendly. It simply means they need time to observe, feel safe, and build trust. Cats like Meisha and Remi often form incredibly deep and loyal bonds with the people who give them patience and kindness. Sometimes “shy” just means they’re waiting for the right person. Could that person be you?
Meisha – the curious, playful explorer who loves investigating everything.
Remi – the gentle, sensitive sweetheart who gains confidence from her sister.
🐈Together they love to:
- Play and wrestle
- Zoom around the house
- Groom each other
- Curl up together for cozy nap.
🏠Their dream home:
• Quiet, calm, indoor-only home
• Patient humans willing to let them adjust at their own pace
• They LOVE other cats
• Possibly okay with a calm, cat-savvy dog
🩺Health & Habits:
✔ Spayed
✔ Vaccinated
✔ FeLV/FIV negative
✔ Dewormed
✔ On flea/tick/heartworm prevention
✔ Perfect litter box manners
They already survived the hardest part of life.
Now they’re just waiting for someone to give them the one thing they’ve never truly had… a FOREVER home together.

Red
Meet Red – A Truly Special Dog Looking for His Forever Family
Red has been in our care for approximately six months, and his journey has been nothing short of remarkable. He came to us at just 8 months old from an abusive situation, terrified of people, new environments, and the world around him. Thanks to the dedication of our wonderful foster homes, Red has made incredible progress—and he has no idea that he doesn’t already have a family of his own. We have made sure he has always felt loved and safe.
Now at 13 months old, Red’s true personality is shining through. He is loving, affectionate, and very playful. He is a happy-go-lucky young dog who wants nothing more than to please his people. His absolute favorite activity is playing ball—and he will happily keep playing as long as you are willing to throw it.
Red is obedient, walks well on a leash, and is crate trained and potty trained. He gets along well with other dogs and with children. While he can be a bit shy and cautious when meeting new people, he warms up quickly—especially once you take his leash and go for a walk with him.
Because of his past, Red will do best in a home that can offer him love, time, patience, and understanding. He may need a little space and a little time to fully settle in, but he already shows the makings of a truly legendary dog. He is loyal, eager to bond, and wants nothing more than to love and be loved.
Red is an energetic pup and would thrive in a home with a fenced yard or with an adopter committed to providing 2–3 walks per day.
Red is up to date on all vaccinations and heartworm prevention and will be neutered prior to adoption. There is an adoption fee, and a home visit with a two-week trial period will be required—because Red is a special boy and deserves the right family.
If you believe you could be that special family, please email charice.johnson@gmail.com or send a message to 865-315-2989 to inquire about adopting Red. [Posted 2/5/2026]
Pico
Pico is a lovable hunk. He is very energetic and playful but also loves a warm nap in the sun. He loves a good buddy and a good neck scratch.
The first part of his life was spent out in the wild, but he has adjusted wonderfully to the luxury of indoor living. He is FIV-positive and has lived with two FIV-negative cats for the last two years without issue.
Pico is very close with his buddy Lithi, a submissive male cat, but he and my first cat (an older, less playful female) have never gotten along. Pico has always been a polite gentleman and avoided fights, but after a couple years of trying to make it work, I think it is time to find a better home.
He will do well in a home with other cats as long as they are submissive and like to play. He currently lives in a house with 2 dogs, but would prefer not to have any dogs in his life. He will need to be an inside-only cat due to his FIV.
Pico can be skittish at first, but once he gets to know you he will request a lot of pets. He is also really good at the vet. He is a neutered, 4-year-old, healthy male, and up to date on all of his vaccines.
Call or text Daniel @ 865-386-7953 or email fermentedhippomusic@gmail.com to meet or learn more about Pico. [Posted 6/6/2025]

Punky
Punky is a 13-week-old female, about-to-be-spayed kitten. As her name implies, she is full of spunk! Punky loves to play and is good with other cats but still wary of dogs. She will be getting spayed next week and finishing up her vaccines for 1 year. She will also be microchipped. Punky is looking for her forever indoor home with a playmate or two. This little girl is quite healthy and negative for feline leukemia and FIV, and she has been fully dewormed and is current on flea and heartworm prevention. She is living with Cinnamon currently, and they can also be adopted as a pair. See his bio as well. They are both wonderful cats! Please email critterdoc09@gmail.com if you can give Punky and/or Cinnamon a loving, forever home. [Posted 8/19/2024]
Cinnamon
Cinnamon is a 2-to-3-year-old, neutered male, dilute orange tabby. He is a bigger boy at 11 pounds lean. He has finished updating all his vet care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV and had vaccines updated. He is current on flea/heartworm prevention and in-process of finishing deworming. Cinnamon is good with other cats and is not an aggressor at all. For a former outdoor tomcat, he has good litter box habits and is totally fine with being scooped up to be held. He is very docile and affectionate. He has a great purr! This boy is very talkative with a lilt that reminds me of a Siamese as well as his more angular face. Available for immediate adoption as an indoor cat. If you are looking for a sweet boy to add to your house, this is your guy! Please email critterdoc09@gmail.com. [Posted 7/29/2024]
Thin Mint
Thin Mint is a 10-month-old male neutered boy tuxedo. He came from an outside feral litter. He is sweet, but the rest of his litter wasn't as friendly. He loves other cats and is very social. He doesn't love being picked up, but it doesn't freak him out. He is a very handsome and more petite boy. He can be adopted solo if other cats in the house or with Skittles or Sweet Tart. Thin Mint is fully vaccinated as an indoor cat, neutered, tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, and up to date on flea/heartworm prevention. Please email critterdoc09@gmail.com for more information. [Posted 1/12/2024]
Adoption News!
Cosmo - ADOPTED!
Meet Cosmo; he is a 6-month-old pit/bully mix. He is the fireball of the litter. Full of energy and ready to play at any given time, he is very curious and gets himself into the oddest places sometimes. He does very well with other dogs and doesn't seem to be problematic interacting with children. He is newly potty trained, still has accidents from time to time, but who doesn't? He gets his good looks from his daddy, who is the bully of the mixture. Cosmo is neutered and vaccinated; there will be a $250 adoption fee to cover his medical costs. [Posted 1/8/2026]
Lady - ADOPTED!
Meet Lady; she is a 6-month-old pit/bully mix. Her name fits her so well: she is just that...a little lady. She is very calm and docile. She would fit well in a 1- or 2-person home, just getting all the attention from her special person. She loves cuddles and squeaky toys. She has the cutest way of sitting and loves to show her owner the attention they deserve. She is potty trained and will be spayed and up to date on all her shots before adoption. Lady is spayed and vaccinated; there will be a $250 adoption fee to cover her medical costs. [Posted 1/8/2026]
Rubble - ADOPTED!
Meet Rubble; he is an 8-month-old, part-husky / part-bully mix. He is quite possibly the most handsome little guy I've ever seen. He's not so little though; he is the fattest of his litter, but he's short and stocky. He is up to date on all shots and is trained to go potty outside. He would do very well where he can run and play outside because that's where he loves to be; but when nighttime comes he wants inside to cuddle. He's very energetic and is just a fun-loving, playful pup. Rubble is neutered and vaccinated; there will be a $250 adoption fee to cover his medical costs. [Posted 1/8/2026]
Mugsy - ADOPTED!
Meet Mugsy, aka Moo, the biggest pup of his litter, but most definitely the sweetest. He is solid white with one single black ring around his eye. He is a 6-month-old pit/bully mix. He is super chill and loves to give everyone big sloppy kisses. He is the best for cuddles and doesn't realize just how big he really is. He loves everyone, dogs, cats, children, this big guy has never met a stranger. He is also pit/bully mix. Mugsy is neutered and vaccinated; there will be a $250 adoption fee to cover his medical costs. [Posted 1/8/2026]
Mackie - ADOPTED!
Mackie weighs about 50 pounds, and we think she is a boxer/ pit bull mix. She is very sweet and house-trained. She is a little concerned when men approach her standing up and will back away. She is OK with men if they are sitting down and giving her treats. She is fine with little kids and older kids.
She is dog-aggressive at the vet hospital where she is boarding, when she is in her kennel and dogs are walked by on a leash. At the place she used to live she had lots of dog companions and was not aggressive towards them. She also had some cats living there and was not aggressive towards them.
She is spayed, on Simparica Trio for heartworm prevention and flea/ tick control. She is up to date on her vaccines. She is a very good girl who will be a great companion.

Bella - ADOPTED!
Bella is a 4-year-old American cocker spaniel, born 10/21/2021. She is spayed, vaccinated, and housetrained — she goes outside twice a day. Bella is affectionate with everyone!! If you want a couch companion, Bella is your girl. She will literally snooze and love on you all day if you want, and she loves to be with other dogs! She is excited to play with small children and loves to walk on leash.
Finn - ADOPTED!
Finn is a super loving cat with a hilarious, quirky personality (and tiny ears!). He is very affectionate with people, wildly adoring of other cats, and completely non aggressive. He’s been estimated to be about 2-3 years old and is neutered and current on vaccinations. He would LOVE to connect with a welcoming kitty friend(s) and needs a buddy or buddies who won’t bully him. Though Finn is unreserved with other cats and loves his people, he is skittish about new people at first (warms to them a lot, but slowly) and anxious about loud noises and bombastic activity in general. He would probably be best in a house without dogs or small children.
If you want a couch companion, Finn is your guy. He will literally purr and love on you all day if you want. Though he seemed to be totally unsocialized when we got him, he’s come out of his shell amazingly. That said, Finn is still hilariously awkward. He is striving towards sitting in my lap properly, and his efforts are ridiculously funny. He is also goofily attempting to play with my other cat. Finn‘s shown a tremendous ability to learn and grow, and he’s doing that constantly. I got him as a foster specifically because he was so scared and needed a lot of TLC. I have been amazed at how loving and affectionate and brave he has become. He will definitely brighten your world. [Posted 8/6/2025]
Hughie - ADOPTED!
Hughie. Male Border Collie. Medium coat. House trained. Good with kids and other dogs.
Hughie is a year old Border Collie with lots of love to give and play to be had! He is high energy and is always ready to go for a walk or take a trip to the dog park. He is extremely playful and loves to meet new people and dogs as well! He loves to cuddle and give kisses and will be your shadow, waiting for a good butt scratch!
Contact Nick at (865) 549-8388 or nboz423@gmail.com for more information and to meet Hughie.

Dennis - ADOPTED!
Dennis is one character of a cat. He is a quiet and sometimes shy cat, but once he gets to know you, he actively comes out to seek attention and love. When he does come around, he loves to be petted and “assists” you in petting him. He loves to find hiding spots and sneak around, but when the mood hits him, he finds you for attention and cuddles. He currently lives in a house with 2 other cats, but he may do better in a home with just one cat. He is the last cat of a multiple-cat home to find a placement after his owner died.
Dennis is 5-6 years old and neutered. He will need shots and we will pay for that or coordinate that before adoption.

Sasha - ADOPTED!
Sasha is the most affectionate kitty ever! Her favorite thing is to curl up on a warm lap while placing her paw lovingly over your heart, purring and staring deeply into your eyes. People often comment on how sweet she is when they meet her. She is not a shy one, and will follow you around and readily jump into your lap. Aside from getting love from her humans, Sasha loves to sit on the highest seat on the cat tree and watch the birdies at the bird feeder, while chattering excitedly! It is quite adorable to watch! Sasha loves feeding time (especially tuna!). She will follow you to the kitchen as you get the food, and then lead you to her bowl so you don’t get lost.
Sasha would be happiest in a home with another cat companion, or one where she receives a lot of human attention and interaction.
Sasha is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped with Home Again Pet Rescue. Owner information will need to be changed.
Mika - ADOPTED!
Mika is a 3-year-old purebred Papillon and weighs about 11 pounds. She is healthy, very sweet, and house-trained. She is very active and energetic, barks a lot and loves to play. She currently lives with 2 other dogs and is occasionally dog-aggressive when food is involved. She will bark at strangers but will quickly become friendly after a few biscuits. She is difficult to groom and will aggressively resist. We have had to sedate her to get her groomed. She is very willful and not very obedient, but is very affectionate and a good companion.
Mika is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her shots. She is on Simparico Trio for heartworm prevention and flea & tick control. We feed her only dry dog food and no table scraps. We have had her for 2 years, but an illness in the family forces us to put her up for adoption.
Phoenix - ADOPTED!
Phoenix is a gorgeous sweet, loving, healthy and playful pup, we think perhaps a mountain cur-type mix. He followed his foster dad home one day on his walk. He isn’t microchipped, and we’ve been unable to find his owner. He is estimated to be 4 – 5 months old. He weighs 30 pounds and will probably double in size as an adult. Phoenix is in the process of getting his puppy vaccines, and SARG will have him neutered before his adoption is final. Everyone at the vet’s office fell in love with this little guy. He is a very active puppy who needs lots of exercise, and he is almost potty trained. Although Phoenix is a courtesy listing, we request that anyone seriously interested in adopting him fill out the online SARG dog adoption application at https://shelteranimalsrescue.org/adopt. [Posted 7/1/2025]
Sparky - ADOPTED!
I need a loving and caring home for my little dog, as I am having surgery and I will not be able to care for him. His name is Sparky. He is a 2-year-old Pomeranian / poodle mix. Sparky weighs about 10 pounds and is neutered and microchipped. He loves children and other dogs. He scratches on the back door to let me know when he needs to go outside. Sparky does not like being alone, so he needs to be with someone who is home as much as possible. [Posted 7/2/2025]
