Finn

Finn is a super loving cat with a hilarious, quirky personality (and tiny ears!). He is very affectionate with people, wildly adoring of other cats, and completely non aggressive. He’s been estimated to be about 2-3 years old and is neutered and current on vaccinations. He would LOVE to connect with a welcoming kitty friend(s) and needs a buddy or buddies who won’t bully him. Though Finn is unreserved with other cats and loves his people, he is skittish about new people at first (warms to them a lot, but slowly) and anxious about loud noises and bombastic activity in general. He would probably be best in a house without dogs or small children.
If you want a couch companion, Finn is your guy. He will literally purr and love on you all day if you want. Though he seemed to be totally unsocialized when we got him, he’s come out of his shell amazingly. That said, Finn is still hilariously awkward. He is striving towards sitting in my lap properly, and his efforts are ridiculously funny. He is also goofily attempting to play with my other cat. Finn‘s shown a tremendous ability to learn and grow, and he’s doing that constantly. I got him as a foster specifically because he was so scared and needed a lot of TLC. I have been amazed at how loving and affectionate and brave he has become. He will definitely brighten your world.

Pico

Pico is a lovable hunk. He is very energetic and playful but also loves a warm nap in the sun. He loves a good buddy and a good neck scratch.
The first part of his life was spent out in the wild, but he has adjusted wonderfully to the luxury of indoor living. He is FIV-positive and has lived with two FIV-negative cats for the last two years without issue.
Pico is very close with his buddy Lithi, a submissive male cat, but he and my first cat (an older, less playful female) have never gotten along. Pico has always been a polite gentleman and avoided fights, but after a couple years of trying to make it work, I think it is time to find a better home.
He will do well in a home with other cats as long as they are submissive and like to play. He currently lives in a house with 2 dogs, but would prefer not to have any dogs in his life. He will need to be an inside-only cat due to his FIV.
Pico can be skittish at first, but once he gets to know you he will request a lot of pets. He is also really good at the vet. He is a neutered, 4-year-old, healthy male, and up to date on all of his vaccines.

Mackie

Mackie weighs about 50 pounds, and we think she is a boxer/ pit bull mix. She is very sweet and house-trained. She is a little concerned when men approach her standing up and will back away. She is OK with men if they are sitting down and giving her treats. She is fine with little kids and older kids.
She is dog-aggressive at the vet hospital where she is boarding, when she is in her kennel and dogs are walked by on a leash. At the place she used to live she had lots of dog companions and was not aggressive towards them. She also had some cats living there and was not aggressive towards them.
She is spayed, on Simparica Trio for heartworm prevention and flea/ tick control. She is up to date on her vaccines. She is a very good girl who will be a great companion.
Call Tri County Small Animal Hospital during business hours at 865-435-1374 for more information or to meet Mackie. [Posted 5/29/2025]
Dennis

Dennis is one character of a cat. He is a quiet and sometimes shy cat, but once he gets to know you, he actively comes out to seek attention and love. When he does come around, he loves to be petted and “assists” you in petting him. He loves to find hiding spots and sneak around, but when the mood hits him, he finds you for attention and cuddles. He currently lives in a house with 2 other cats, but he may do better in a home with just one cat. He is the last cat of a multiple-cat home to find a placement after his owner died.
Dennis is 5-6 years old and neutered. He will need shots and we will pay for that or coordinate that before adoption.

Sasha

Sasha is the most affectionate kitty ever! Her favorite thing is to curl up on a warm lap while placing her paw lovingly over your heart, purring and staring deeply into your eyes. People often comment on how sweet she is when they meet her. She is not a shy one, and will follow you around and readily jump into your lap. Aside from getting love from her humans, Sasha loves to sit on the highest seat on the cat tree and watch the birdies at the bird feeder, while chattering excitedly! It is quite adorable to watch! Sasha loves feeding time (especially tuna!) and is extremely vocal in expressing her love for her food. She will follow you to the kitchen as you get the food, instructing you how to do it correctly and then lead you to her bowl so you don’t get lost.
Sasha is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped with Home Again Pet Rescue. Owner information will need to be changed.
Please email shauniphillips@gmail.com or dashco65@gmail.com to meet or learn more about Sasha. [Updated 4/20/2025]
Punky

Punky is a 13-week-old female, about-to-be-spayed kitten. As her name implies, she is full of spunk! Punky loves to play and is good with other cats but still wary of dogs. She will be getting spayed next week and finishing up her vaccines for 1 year. She will also be microchipped. Punky is looking for her forever indoor home with a playmate or two. This little girl is quite healthy and negative for feline leukemia and FIV, and she has been fully dewormed and is current on flea and heartworm prevention. She is living with Cinnamon currently, and they can also be adopted as a pair. See his bio as well. They are both wonderful cats! Please email critterdoc09@gmail.com if you can give Punky and/or Cinnamon a loving, forever home. [Posted 8/19/2024]
Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a 2-to-3-year-old, neutered male, dilute orange tabby. He is a bigger boy at 11 pounds lean. He has finished updating all his vet care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV and had vaccines updated. He is current on flea/heartworm prevention and in-process of finishing deworming. Cinnamon is good with other cats and is not an aggressor at all. For a former outdoor tomcat, he has good litter box habits and is totally fine with being scooped up to be held. He is very docile and affectionate. He has a great purr! This boy is very talkative with a lilt that reminds me of a Siamese as well as his more angular face. Available for immediate adoption as an indoor cat. If you are looking for a sweet boy to add to your house, this is your guy! Please email critterdoc09@gmail.com. [Posted 7/29/2024]
Radar

Radar is 7 months old as of 7/23/2024. He is neutered, heartworm-negative, up to date on vaccinations, and housetrained. He is a rat terrier who looks like the photos of a Majorca ratter. One look at his ears will tell you where he got his name! Radar's foster home is located in Concord, NC.
This good boy is very smart and very loving. He knows how to sit and stay. He likes to shake paws, play fetch, play ball, dig in the dirt, and run! He loves the water and loves to play in the water hose. He also likes to watch animals on TV! He likes his harness on when he goes for a ride-- it seems to make him feel more secure. As he is still a puppy, he tends to chew through his leashes, so a metal leash works best. Radar is afraid of paper bags and loud noises inside, but he's not afraid of thunder or firecrackers outside. He is of a type that is bred to hunt mice and rats, and consequently he has a high prey drive and can't be trusted around small animals.
Since he was rescued, Radar has not been tested in very many situations with people and other animals. He likes to play ball with some neighbor kids, but he has not been around small children. He behaved well at the vet's office where there were people and other animals. His current foster home is not active enough to give him the exercise, training, and socialization he should have. He needs an active family to give him some training and lots of play time. He is so smart that he might be able to train as a service dog.
The bottom line is that Radar is a really good, young dog who needs a best friend and a loving and active forever home. He is also a gorgeous dog whose photos do not do him justice, with his sleek coat and beautiful reddish-brown highlights.
Please text Loni at 865-282-7846 or email uneekseven@gmail.com if you want to meet Radar and give him the good life he deserves. [Posted 7/23/2024]
Thin Mint

Thin Mint is a 10-month-old male neutered boy tuxedo. He came from an outside feral litter. He is sweet, but the rest of his litter wasn't as friendly. He loves other cats and is very social. He doesn't love being picked up, but it doesn't freak him out. He is a very handsome and more petite boy. He can be adopted solo if other cats in the house or with Skittles or Sweet Tart. Thin Mint is fully vaccinated as an indoor cat, neutered, tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, and up to date on flea/heartworm prevention. Please email critterdoc09@gmail.com for more information. [Posted 1/12/2024]
Adoption News!
Phoenix - ADOPTED!

Phoenix is a gorgeous sweet, loving, healthy and playful pup, we think perhaps a mountain cur-type mix. He followed his foster dad home one day on his walk. He isn’t microchipped, and we’ve been unable to find his owner. He is estimated to be 4 – 5 months old. He weighs 30 pounds and will probably double in size as an adult. Phoenix is in the process of getting his puppy vaccines, and SARG will have him neutered before his adoption is final. Everyone at the vet’s office fell in love with this little guy. He is a very active puppy who needs lots of exercise, and he is almost potty trained. Although Phoenix is a courtesy listing, we request that anyone seriously interested in adopting him fill out the online SARG dog adoption application at https://shelteranimalsrescue.org/adopt. Please contact Caren at 865-414-4481 or email c22macdonald@gmail.com for more information. [Posted 7/1/2025]
Sparky - ADOPTED!

I need a loving and caring home for my little dog, as I am having surgery and I will not be able to care for him. His name is Sparky. He is a 2-year-old Pomeranian / poodle mix. Sparky weighs about 10 pounds and is neutered and microchipped. He loves children and other dogs. He scratches on the back door to let me know when he needs to go outside. Sparky does not like being alone, so he needs to be with someone who is home as much as possible. [Posted 7/2/2025]
